The presentation to the St. Mary’s Pre School was in response to a request by the Principal to assist in their 2010 wish list in a fundraising effort for completion of ongoing projects in the Pre School. The assistance was provided under the “Scotiabank Bright Future Programme” which will assist in the purchase and installation of ceiling fans in all classrooms. The Scotiabank Bright Future Programme provides the bank with an opportunity to increase our visibility in the communities where we live and work, building relationships with this generation of customers, and the next.
The fundraising efforts were done through the raffle of a mountain bike. Tickets were sold at XC$10.00. The winner of the bike was Mr. Ralph Johnson who was presented with his bike by Customer Support Officer, Eva McClean, who is also the champion of the programme and who co-coordinated the fundraising effort.
Mrs. Hazel Brooks would like to thank Scotiabank Anguilla Ltd on behalf of the staff and pupils of the St. Mary’s Pre School. “I am delighted that the directors of the bank have seen it fit to make this worthwhile contribution to the school,” said Mrs. Brooks.

“In order for us to improve the standard of Early Childhood Education in Anguilla, there must be that strong partnership among the Private Sector, Government, Parents and Teachers. Pre-School education is very costly; therefore any contribution to its delivery is appreciated. Scotiabank must be highly commended for taking the lead in the right direction.”
