CAPE Students Beautify A.L.H.C.S

The teachers and students of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive school should be proud of two of their very talented six form students, Ms. Tanasha Duncan and Ms. Kenisha York, for their creativity and hard work.

The students, who are enrolled in the Art and Design Coarse at the Cape level, were given an SBA assignment to create a drawing about something relevant to Anguilla. One student, Tanasha Duncan, could not settle on one idea so she decided to incorporate all her ideas into one painting which depicts scenes of the ocean and the flora and fauna of the island.

The other, Kenisha York, chose to draw President Elect Barack Obama because she felt that he is not only relevant to the United States of America but also to Anguilla and the world in which we live.

Deputy Principal and Art and Design Teacher at the school, Mrs Yasmini Lloyd, praised the students by saying, “These works of art show that there are positive students at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School who work hard and aspire to be high achievers. I am extremely proud of Tanasha Duncan and Kenisha York for their diligence and commitment in completing this project. They have both done an excellent job evidenced by the creativity and artistic skills displayed in their work. I hope that the work of Tanasha and Kenisha will motivate other students to use their talents in a creative and productive manner.”
