“On behalf of the Assembly I would like to welcome the Member for East End (and Leader of Government Business) back to the Assembly,” said Mr. Carty. “You have not been here Sir, for the last sitting. We understand you were away on medical treatment which I understand has been reasonably successful. We take this opportunity to welcome you.”
Opposition Member, Mr. Hughes said: “Mr. Speaker, I would like to express my heartfelt happiness that the Chief Minister has made colossal progress in his recovery and is back with us. We welcome him back and I hope that he will be here for the rest of his term.”
Mr. Fleming responded as follows: “I want to thank you very much for your sentiments expressed and also to, publicly from this forum, thank my ministerial colleagues and members of the cabinet and the people of Anguilla and the people outside of Anguilla, for their prayerful thoughts during the period of my illness.
“My illness is not all over, but I want to say, Mr. Speaker, that I am blessed and I would ask that you continue to pray for me whether here in this House or throughout Anguilla because I believe that the Lord has His Hands in everything. Thank you and thank the people of Anguilla for their prayerful support.
The Anguillian takes this opportunity to join in extending every good wish for the health and happiness of the Honourable Chief Minister
