I too am inspired to follow-up on your letter that recently appeared in this publication. Here are some of my own personal feelings and I will amplify on some of them. For reasons that will soon become clear, I am choosing to do so publically. I am happy that you “very much love and care for this island and its people,” and that you and your wife “have chosen Anguilla as the location for your home away from home.” I want to assure you that your feelings are reciprocated.

I’m inspired to follow-up on the excellent letter by Sheridan Smith that recently appeared in this publication.

Dear fellow Anguillians:

As we step into a new era of government, we must first acknowledge and congratulate them as our new leaders and pledge to work collaboratively for the betterment of Anguilla.
My current observation centers on the fact that we have a serious real estate debacle on this island and many people seem to be oblivious of this fact.

GENERAL ELECTION OBSERVATIONS

For the very first time I found it possible to make comparisons between two separate general elections in the Caribbean, and I came away with a feeling that one of them was far better, more organised, less contentious and, I would venture to say, very fair.
