A new block, an expansion project at the Valley Primary School, accommodating three large kindergarten classrooms, was officially opened on Friday, July 1. The once-stalled building was completed with a contribution of US$175,000 from the Windsong (Anguilla) Foundation.

She graduated from Kingsborough Community College with an A.S in Biology with honors in 2008. While at Kingsborough, she joined the research program at the school and worked closely with her research mentor. She presented her poster at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABCRMS) in California 2006, and also at the Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists (MACUB) conference in New York 2007. She was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, and also served as a peer mentor.

Having never been a person to contract her boundaries, Nashara Webster, daughter of Celina ‘Princess’ Fleming of Island Harbour, graduated on June 2, 2011, from Trent University in Canada, having completed her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) in Economics, with a minor in International Development Studies, in three years rather than four.

Regional Schools Food And Nutrition Quiz Competition

Caribbean Schools Regional Food and Nutrition Quiz Competition was held on Wednesday and Thursday the 20th and 21st October. Eleven (11) teams from around the region competed in this year’s competition which was held via the Uwidite system at the University of the West Indies Open Campus here in Anguilla and the region. Anguilla progressed easily through round 1 and then onto round 2 where Anguilla competed against Guyana, Turks and Caicos and Jamaica in the semifinals. Anguilla was successful in defeating both Jamaica and Turks and Caicos to compete in the finals against Guyana.
